Gefico selected as the fresh water generation system supplier for Jan De Nul´s Heavy Lift Vessel “Les Alizés”
Gefico has signed a contract to supply the fresh water generation package for the new Heavy Lift Vessel named “Les Alizés” owned by Jan De Nul Group. This vessel will be built at China Merchants Heavy Industry Haimen shipyard and scheduled for delivery in 2022.
Together with the Voltaire (for which Gefico has also supplied the fresh water generation package), this new vessel will be in a super-size class of its own, capable of building the newest generation of offshore wind farms. Les Alizés is equipped with a crane having a lifting capacity of 5,000 tons and equally impressive lifting heights. She will mainly be used for the construction of offshore wind farms, but with her remarkable crane she is also extremely suitable for decommissioning offshore oil and gas platforms.
In this kind of offshore jobs, a reliable and low-maintenance solution for fresh water generation package is extremely important. For this purpose, Gefico has been appointed as the supplier of two (2) reverse osmosis freshwater generators, each one with a capacity of 35 m3/day. These units have a high level of automation and data logging. Each fresh water generator has also installed in a common skid the necessary pre & post treatment units: multimedia filter with automatic backwash, anti-scaling dosing unit, Clean In Place (CIP) for an easy and quick flushing of the unit, automatic chlorination dosage system and rehardening filter.
Gefico is providing also a second pass reverse osmosis unit to produce 10 m3/day of technical water with TDS < 10 ppm.
We are really proud of being awarded as the fresh water generation supplier for this outstanding project and continue our cooperation with Jan De Nul Group and CMHI Haimen shipyard.
