A New Milestone for Gefico in the Fishing Industry

Gefico has secured the contract to provide the Water Treatment Solutions for the new 120m Krill trawler for Rimfrost AS, that is being built at Tersan Shipyard (Turkey), in cooperation with Westcon Shipyard (Norway). The vessel has been designed by Kongsberg to carry out krill fishing operations in the Antarctic. With accommodation for 60 crew members, she will be a green vessel satisfying the standards of the IMO’s Polar Code, with low emissions and sustainable energy usage.

The complete package of Gefico solutions onboard this vessel will include two double-pass AQE-400T reverse osmosis units with a total production capacity of 800 m3/day, able to provide both fresh and technical water. Besides, four MHF-10000 rehardening filters, two chlorine dosing units, two UV sterilizers and a CIP “Cleaning In Place” Module. The main advantage of this RO plant resides on its versatility to provide whatsoever quality of the water that is required anywhere.

This project consolidates Gefico in the global fishing industry as a trustworthy partner for the design and manufacture of water treatment plants with big output production requirements, what is increasingly being demanded in this sector.
